Being a second semester of junior, school has been brutal, the work load has been overwhelming and life as i know it has felt like chaos.
I have to admit, although writing has always been an escape for me, i was skeptical about a program that would just add on to the never ending amount of responsibility i already had too much of.
But on that beautiful March afternoon, where spring was in the air and the sight of summer was becoming more visible, the class has become more of a luxury then i had ever imagined it would be.
Not only was it more it a surprise at how comfortable the class is in sharing our writing with one another, but kicking off the series of plays with such a magnificent production just gave me faith in that i made the right choice in signing up.
It is so enthralling to be surrounded by such insightful teenagers my own age who have such various perspectives on life and theater, and it was so interesting to hear people's opinion about the city and the play.
Speaking of the play, i personally had not put much thought into what kind of impression the play would have on me. Although the title was very intriguing, it took me off guard from the first scene. The characters, especially the woman had such intensity and emotion that you couldn't help but relate on the deepest levels. I was enjoying myself the whole time with
But my favorite had to be the last scene, which caused goose bumps all over my arms. My heart dropped for Greg, because after all he had been through preparing himself mentally that Steph had moved on, she chose the to reveal her love for him when it was really over. I had never been so heartsick from a play in my life.
Overall it was a great night, and i can't wait to see what else this TRaC has to offer :)
